Group Founder

In 1986 Pauline planted a seed for a new kind of recruitment firm – one that would redefine the highest standards and ethics. Three decades later our two brands, Black Betty Hospitality Group and TCC (The Company Connection) continue to exceed the expectations of clients in delivering exceptional talent.

Bianca Crossley

General Manager

With a background in hotels & hospitality then over 16 years’ experience leading successful recruitment teams and working with top international blue chip clients, Bianca is at the helm as GM of Black Betty and also heads up our Chef Division.

Bianca is a seasoned recruiter within the hospitality space and no job is too difficult, too big, or too small for her to turn around quickly.

Daniel (Monkey) Ackman

Group Operations & Pub Division Manager

Monkey has hospitality running through his veins. Starting at the age of 12 as a waiter then a glassie, before taking the leap to Hotel Manager of a pumping CBD hotel by 18½ (the moment he was legally allowed).

With almost 2 decades in management of Hotels, Pubs and Nightclubs, working his way up the ranks to Group Operations Manager for one of Australia’s most successful Pub Groups that owns one of Sydney’s biggest drinking institutions, Monkey has a 6th sense when it comes to knowing what will work and what makes the industry tick.  Drawing on strong operational knowledge of all aspects of pub management, Monkey is a natural to source talent at all levels, including Licensees, Operations Managers, Gaming Managers, GMs….and everything in between.

With a reputation as large as his personality and connections from the east to the west…..combined with his intimate knowledge of everything drinking and party related, Monkey is your ‘go to guy’.

Jasmin Akers

Senior Recruiter - Restaurant Division

Prior to joining Black Betty, Jasmin’s hospitality career spanned 16 years, with 11 years in senior management roles, which included Food & Beverage Manager for one of Australia’s most exciting 5-star luxury hotel groups then Venue Manager and General Manager of some of Australia’s best restaurants.

After a stint as a lion trainer in Africa, Jasmin cut her teeth in hospitality management at Nobu in Mayfair, London. Then with a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management under her belt, gained a cocktail of experience in running our most successful venues, recruiting from the ground up. Jasmin’s intimate knowledge of hospo roles and their requirements makes her the “go to person” for all front of house management. As a natural recruiter, and with deep experience to draw on, Jasmin brings this industry knowledge and charismatic approach to Black Betty’s Restaurant Division.

Dean Worthy

Senior Recruiter - Chef Division

With 21 years’ experience as a chef, and 6 as a Head Chef, Dean brings a lot to the table as a chef recruiter. For 5 years before hanging up his whites, Dean was Head Chef of the multi-award winning hatted restaurant, The Restaurant Pendolino in Sydney. In building his brigades for many years, Dean knows how to recruit and has developed an exceptional ability for spotting the best talent.

Along with his deep personal experience as a Chef – having been through the trenches adds another layer of understanding, on both sides of the pass. From the heat of the kitchen, nailing service every time, Dean brings that same expert perspective to the recruitment game, sourcing chefs at all levels across Australia.

Marie Gallien

Senior Recruiter - Restaurant & Hotel Divisions

After graduating with a Masters in International Hospitality Management in her native France, Marie moved to Australia, and never looked back. As a hospitality recruiter, Marie draws on over 15 years of senior management experience, including opening and managing high-end restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Falls Creek for one of Australia’s most sophisticated, edgy and successful luxury hotel groups. Building and managing big teams and multi-outlets was part of the territory.

Having also been at the helm of one of Sydney’s busiest fine dining waterfront restaurants as Venue Manager for 5 years, Marie can identify people with the experience to deliver a superior level of service – with the dedication, professionalism and creativity…as well as that ‘little bit of crazy’ that truly sets them apart. Working across Black Betty’s fine dining Restaurant and Hotel Divisions, Marie recruits for front of house up to Group and Venue GMs, F&B Management and Operations. With a huge network and deep experience, Marie knows how to find and select the very best people.
