Group Founder

In 1986 Pauline planted a seed for a new kind of recruitment firm – one that would redefine the highest standards and ethics. Three decades later our two brands, Black Betty Hospitality Group and TCC (The Company Connection) continue to exceed the expectations of clients in delivering exceptional talent.

Daniel (Monkey) Ackman

Group Operations & Pub Division Manager

Monkey has hospitality running through his veins. Starting at the age of 12 as a waiter then a glassie, before taking the leap to Hotel Manager of a pumping CBD hotel by 18½ (the moment he was legally allowed).

With almost 2 decades in management of Hotels, Pubs and Nightclubs, working his way up the ranks to Group Operations Manager for one of Australia’s most successful Pub Groups that owns one of Sydney’s biggest drinking institutions, Monkey has a 6th sense when it comes to knowing what will work and what makes the industry tick.  Drawing on strong operational knowledge of all aspects of pub management, Monkey is a natural to source talent at all levels, including Licensees, Operations Managers, Gaming Managers, GMs….and everything in between.

With a reputation as large as his personality and connections from the east to the west…..combined with his intimate knowledge of everything drinking and party related, Monkey is your ‘go to guy’.

Ibrahim Kasif

Manager - Chef Division

With 18 years experience as a chef, and 12 as a Head Chef, including 6.5 years as the Chef/Owner of Stanbuli Turkish Restaurant in Sydney, Ibrahim brings a lot to the table as a chef recruiter. Ibrahim knows how to recruit to build a brigade as Stanbuli got a hat in its first year!

Along with his deeply personal experience as a chef, having been through the trenches of owning a restaurant, adds another layer of understanding, on both sides of the pass. From the heat of the kitchen, nailing service every time, Ibrahim brings that same expert perspective to the recruitment game, sourcing the very best chefs in Australia, Asia and the Pacific.

Kate Rogers

Talent Manager

With a passion for the food industry and a Bachelor of Food Science from University College Cork in Ireland, Kate has a strong interest in health, nutrition and new product development. In Ireland Kate was a Regulatory Scientist for food and supplements, working across numerous global markets, including Europe and China. Like many university students, Kate worked in hospitality while studying to fund her drinking lifestyle!

At Black Betty, Kate manages and co-ordinates talent, helping to source candidates for senior management and high-end chef roles.
